Big things Ex-Spectre-d as the Reds hit double-oh 7

Hot-shot Harrison has Golden eye for goal
The Under 9s unbeaten league record continued this week as they smashed the living daylights out of a well organised Whiston Wildcats. Bright sunshine greeted the players as they stepped out for game 1 with the odd job in hand to start bright and get a foot hold in the game. That’s exactly what they did as Pogmoor were in the early ascendancy as Max Truswell clearly had a license to thrill with a quick brace of goals for the Reds.
Moon raking passes from midfield pair Render and Hepworth kept possession well for the reds and an unfortunate own goal from the Rotherham side put Poggi 3 up before the break. 2 late goals gave the visitors a quantum of solace as the first game ended with a narrow lead for the home side.
Game 2 commenced and striker Harrison Taylor, not to be outdone, clearly was the man with the golden boot as he netted 4 times to put the game out of sight. One strike a particular thunderball of an effort from just outside the box as the reds defence stood firm and all midfielders assisted superbly.
Their was to be no skyfall from grace for Pogmoor as the 100% league record remained intact as they kept up the hard work and intensity throughout both games.
Whiston attacked bravely and brilliant home keepers Smith and Howlett both got Goldfingers to the ball on several occasions to repel them. The hosts were much the stronger and a well deserved victory was confirmed as the excellent referee Lucy blew for full time.
The team were sent home from Poggi with love by the adoring fans and Worksop Boys are next up for the Reds.
