Pre-Halloween Fright For Local Scout

Poggy not scared to play football the right way
On a beautiful sunny October morning in south Sheffield I stood at the side of the pitch having watched this latest Poggy master class with two questions running through my mind:
1. Who on Earth lives in all of these mansions in Dore and Totley? and,
2. How can I write the match report for today without repeating the same old story of "brilliant, fantastic, awesome Poggy".
The vision of a walking thesaurus then approached me from across the pitch wearing a Sheffield United scouting badge and said "...it's FRIGHTENING how well those boys can pass the ball around at their age". He was right.
This performance WAS brilliant, fantastic and awesome, but the lads would have terrified any defence that was put in front of them today.
A first team of Pass, Booth, Murray, Rice and Lindley played exceptionally well with Rice adding to his incredible goalscoring record for the season. Pass was once again excellent, whilst Murray and Booth both had great games. The lads were fantastic from the first whistle and this was something of an omen of things to come.
Today was the day for "fans favourite" Matthew Lindley to take home the Man of the Match award. Lindley showed fantastic determination on the left hand side and was rewarded for his hard work with a beautifully finished goal.
The second game saw the introduction of McNulty, Ross, Mallinson and Scholey. The lads showed great character to battle away for 40 minutes at high tempo against determined opposition. Scholey and Mallinson both found space in wide areas and proved to be a nightmare (on Elm Street) for the opposition at times.
McNulty and Ross were a formidable partnership for Poggy with the management team unable to choose between them for MOTM. The award was therefore shared by two players who showed steel, determination and quality that would exorcise any doubts that Poggy would come out on top once again.
It's Kiverton Park at home next week. Hope to see you all there.
